-Were some easier to find than others? Which were the easiest? Which the hardest? Thoughts on why?
Finding images or sounds that bring up senses are more complicated than finding what we see and hear. Especially feeling is tricky to figure out if certain image or sound does bring up senses except the obvious ones – yelling, and crying.
An image that provokes a sound was the easiest to find because it is obvious and straightforward. We are living in a visual world and we are use to seeing and making different images that describe sound is not as hard as relating feeling/thought

Testing

I watched 30 minutes of different ‘kinds’ TV programs with the sound turned off. These are the shots that I noticed.

1. My Chemical Romance – I don’t love you

-wide shot,
-close-up,
-eye level view,
-over the shoulder shot,
-medium shot.
The music video shows two scenes where the band playing the music and the characters playing the story. There are lot of cutaway shots to connect the characters and the band to make them related to each other. It seems like the singer is telling a story of the characters in the music video as the scene flips back and forth.

2. Nell – It’s okay

-close-up,
-cutaway,
-zoom out,
-wide shot- pans
-over the shoulder shot,
-high angle view,
-zoom out.
There are lot of different perspective shots showing in this music video. Repeating scenes with different endings throughout the video breaks our expectation.

-handheld shot – tilts and pans

-wide shot,
-reverse shot,
-close up,
-match-on action shot
-low angle shot
The show is a thriller/action drama which is shown in ‘real-time’. The handheld shot is used through out the show. The shot fits well in this type of action drama which the character swiches locations as the time passes quickly. Before the show focuses on different character, the image of digital clock appears.

Depend on the program, the technique(an establishing shot, a reverse shot…etc) that is used in the video is different. There are many ways to film in certain perspective to send out a message/point of the video. I learned that in each shots give a sense of feeling that affects the result. Also, the shots lead the audience to what they need to recognize or understand.

2. Overview – My concept is to show why I own this camera. By showing different features and the quality of the images. What kind of memories/pictures I took. Also, I am going to introduce my trip to Japan where I bought this camera. to say that the only problem with this camera is that there is only one subtitle – Japanese which I don’t understand.

5. Key Message – excitement, memories, new, confusion 
6. Content Planning – I will use cutout images and vectored element to tell the memories and the informaiton about this camera. (still images and illustrator)

creative brief

title- Plasticine Sculpture

Setting the plasticine model construction by one frame at a time, moving the models of the numbers or the light slightly to give the impression of movement and time. I used positive and negative shapes to give depth and space to the project.

audience – who are interested in sculpture and stop motion techinique.

key message- stop motion technique, plasticine model, shadow/light

content planning- make numbers out of plasticine and light on them to create shadows. Add an abstract sound that gives a sense of movement of time.

visual/concept references- from exercise 1.

statement- I didn’t want to focus on material(plasticine) and the process of how the numbers are made. Instead, I wanted to concentrated on the shadows of different 3d shape of numbers and how the shadows change in particular time.
